Benjamin List教授，1968年生于德国法兰克福，1993年毕业于柏林自由大学，1997年在法兰克福大学获得博士学位，德国化学家，德国科学院院士，奥地利科学院院士，中国科学院荣誉会士，马克斯·普朗克煤炭研究所主任，日本北海道大学教授，华中师范大学特聘教授。他因不对称有机小分子催化领域的开创性贡献与David W. C. MacMillan共同获得2021年诺贝尔化学奖。他是有机小分子催化领域的国际领军人物，长期致力于催化剂的设计和催化方法的开发，已经建立包括超强酸手性催化剂在内的多个催化体系，近五年在Nature, Science等国际顶级期刊发表多项开创性研究成果。

Brief Introduction of Professor Benjamin List

Professor Benjamin List, born in 1968 in Frankfurt, Germany, graduated from Freie Universität Berlin in 1993 and earned his Ph.D. from Goethe University Frankfurt in 1997. As a renowned German chemist, he is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and an Honorary Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He serves as the Director of Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung and holds professorial positions at Hokkaido University in Japan and Central China Normal University.

For his pioneering contributions to the field of asymmetric organocatalysis, he was jointly awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with David W. C. MacMillan. As a leading figure in organocatalysis, Professor List has long been dedicated to the design of organocatalysts and the development of catalytic methodologies. He has established multiple catalytic systems, including those involving chiral strong acid catalysts. Over the past five years, he has published several seminal studies in top-tier international journals such as Nature and Science.
